The EmilyAnn Theatre & Gardens presents this summer’s Shakespeare Under the Stars production of Romeo and Juliet, directed by Bridget Farias. This complete two-hour production features a cast of remarkable and talented 12-18 year olds.  For four weeks they have studied the text, memorized lines, attended professionally instructed workshops (text & scansion, improvisation, and stage combat), assisted in building their own set and  sewing their own costumes, and now will perform Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet every evening (Sunday exceped) for two weeks consecutively.  Come see Romeo and Juliet set in 1810, the Romantic period, and experience this masterpiece of love, hate, anger, joy, and revenge on our Outdoor Mainstage Amphitheatre.

Caught between their feuding families, Romeo and Juliet secretly marry.  Their joy is cut short when Romeo kills Juliet’s cousin in revenge.  He is banished and the two then independently plot ways in which they can be together forever, no matter the cost.
